A very important opportunity exists that needs everyone’s input. Sound Transit has extended the comment period for which route the light rail should take into West Seattle until April 2. The best for the community is the underground tunnel as it would displace fewer people and not destroy the viewscape. Other areas of Seattle will be tunneled including downtown. While the tunnel option appears more expensive the above ground options do not include the cost of imminent domain and the cost of displacement of all the residences from an above ground rail. We believe that without your input the decision will be to go above ground so your input is needed now. We encourage you to look at the options and express your desires.
